Services

Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy

Based on our assessments, we will recommend you a specific physiotherapy treatment. Sessions include Manual Therapy or joint mobilization to alleviate pain and restore movement. Manual Therapy or joint mobilization includes first identifying if motion within the painful or restricted joint is abnormal, limited or sometimes even hyper-mobile. Once we identify the specific source of the problem, we mobilize the joints by a hands-on technique and help stabilize and restore natural function. Manual therapy, strengthening exercises, and the functional application of kinesio/athletic help achieve best results. Our ultimate goal is to optimize your health and restore it to its natural function. In addition to our hands-on manual therapy approach, we use a combination of other treatments to achieve the highest level of care.

Dry Needling

dry needling

Dry needling, also known as functional dry needling or FDN, is a therapeutic treatment procedure that involves multiple advances of a filament needle into the dysfunctional muscle, which typically contains a ‘trigger point’.  Most patients will not even feel the needle penetrate the skin, but once it has and is advanced into the muscle, the feeling of discomfort can vary from patient to patient. Typically positive results of dry needling physiotherapy are apparent within 2-4 treatment sessions. Dry needling benefits can include effective treatment for acute and chronic pain, rehabilitation from injury, and even pain and injury prevention, with very few side effects.

Spine Manipulation

spine manipulation

Our therapists are trained and certified to administer spinal manipulation when appropriate.

Spinal manipulation is a high velocity, low amplitude thrust that helps to restore joint alignment, improve mobility, improve joint lubrication, relieve muscle spasm and provide pain relief.

Dizziness / Vertigo / Concussion

dizziness vertigo

Vestibular rehab is the treatment of vertigo and balance disorders. Alterations in balance may be caused from an issue of the inner ear which can often times be treated by a physical therapist with training in this area.

The physical therapist will assess the specific type and cause of the dizziness which will decide how it is to be treated. Treatment includes clinical and home exercises that aim to restore communication between your vestibular system and other systems in your brain such as vision and balance.

Modality

modality

Modalities are adjunct treatment options that physiotherapists may employ to promote healing and help with pain management during a clinical session.

Some commonly used electrical and thermal modalities are as follows:

  • Interferential Current (IFC)
  • Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
  • Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES)
  • Ultrasound
  • LASER
  • Heat
  • Ice
  • Massage Gun
  • Cupping
  • Shockwave Therapy

Massage Therapy

We work together as a team of practitioners to create a collaborative environment. Patients who come for regular physiotherapy treatments will often be referred to one of our massage therapists to assist in the rehabilitation process. As a team, we communicate to ensure our patients receive the best possible care.
